Warts- Treatment Of Common Warts

By: Joe Islab

In this article, we hope to give you a better understanding of what causes warts and how to deal with them.

Warts are a very familiar occurance for many people, and are caused by either a viral infection, or because they are contagious when touched by the skin of a sufferer, but what indeed are warts? To break them down to their most basic form warts are actually benign tumors of the epidermis and are caused by a virus, specifically by the human papilloma virus (HPV). For most of the time the warts are typically painless, although if you have them on the soles of your feet, they can hurt. Most of the time if you have a wart it will be skin-coloured and feel somewhat tough on the skin, but they can also be other shapes and colours. Warts are for the most part innocent growths that regularly go away on their own inside two years, but lets look in detail at the virus that causes them.

HPV unbelievably, is an even more familiar virus than herpes. And while it can attack at any age, HPV infections are possibly most occurant in youth and early adulthood. HPV may be more prone to transmitting when the warts are already prominant, but the virus can also be passed if there are no obvious symptoms. One thing to mention is that HPV, just like herpes cannot be cured; therefore, the infected person is to all intent and purposes, contagious for life. But while there is no 100% cure for HSV itself there are remedies for warts.

There are a huge array of products to deal with warts. And this good as treatments avoid warts from passing to other parts of your own body, and also to others. As with any kind of treatment many factors will be required to be taken into consideration for the treatment to be successful, for instance how many warts there are, how big they are and where they are. If you go to see a medical practitioner, some of their cures can be as wide ranging and to a certain degree, quite painful as the following:- Keratolysis, which is typically with salicylic acid or blistering agents. When going down the salicylic acid route, it typically entails of applying plasters laced with the chemicals to the effected area. Other curative choices can be things like laser surgery and electrosurgery. One absolute drastic choice is Cryotherapy which is freezing off the lump with liquid nitrogen.

As you continue to read this article, pay special attention to how parts 1 and 2 relate to one another.

So now hopefully you have a clearer understanding of what and why warts are formed and some of the remedial choices to treat them. The most important thing to recall is that warts are recurring, and are contagious when in touch with the skin of another or yourself. And while it is potential to have the virus for life, the warts themselves are usually innocent growths that regularly go away on their own inside two being.

Over time, you will begin to understand how these concepts really come together if you choose to venture into this subject further.
